Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday left Beijing for Dhaka of Bangladesh after holding talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and other officials in his day-long stay in China.
The Iranian minister left the Chinese capital late on Tuesday and his flight touched down at Bangladeshi Shahjalal International Airport at around 12:30 am local time on Wednesday.
Welcomed by Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque at the airport, Zarif said that Iran is grateful to Bangladesh for its support during the economic embargo and is ready to reciprocate the favor in many ways especially energy and power sector cooperation.
According to Bangladeshi sources, during his day-long visit, Zarif would meet with President Md Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.
